Singer, Kingsley Okonkwo, popularly known as KCee, has urged the public to cultivate the habit of celebrating individuals while they are still alive, rather than only showering them with tributes upon their death.  KCee made this appeal following the death of Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo, who passed away on May 11, 2026, after a battle with advanced metastatic kidney cancer. KCee expressed regret over the tendency to eulogize people only after they have passed, emphasizing the need for appreciation in the present. Appealing to everyone to do better going forward, the singer wrote; We are all guilty. Were too good at eulogies and too late with love. A lot of people have beautiful things to say about you.But they save it for your funeral. They wait until youre gone to post the RIP, the long thread, the he was like a brother to me. Why do we do that? Why do we keep our appreciation locked up until theres no one left to hear it?Why do we clap for people at their graves, but stay silent when theyre struggling, building, doubting themselves right in front of us? Your friend, your family, your neighbor, your colleague, your brother,Your sister, your husband,, your wife theyre here now. They can hear you. They can feel it. They can be strengthened by it. Can we start telling people Im proud of you while they can still smile back? Can we start supporting their business, sharing their work, checking on their mental health while theyre alive? Can we choose real love, real presence, real compassion before its too late? Yes, were all going to leave this earth someday. Thats the one appointment none of us can cancel. But until that day comes, lets not waste the time we have. Lets be human to each other.Lets say the nice things now.Lets show up now.Lets make peace, give grace, and love deeply while theres still time. Because the best RIP is a life well-loved before it ends. If this speaks to you, call someone today. Text them. Visit them, Tell them what youve been holding back. Speak life. Because one day, all well have left are memories.Dont wait for the funeral. Goodbye Alex sleep well”The post Were too good at eulogies and too late with love – Singer, Kcee harps on celebrating people while they are alive as he shares video of himself and Alexx Ekubo appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
