Chats purportedly exchanged between media personality Mayowa Lambe and her ex-husband Roby Ekpo have given a hint at what led to the end of their marriage. The new chats, shared by a friend of Mayowa’s, shows Roby begging Mayowa for forgiveness. However, Mayowa made it clear that she had given up on the union. The reasons she gave include that her self-esteem took a hit and she started feeling like she was not beautiful enough because of the way Roby allegedly flirted with other girls. She stated that Roby would tell the girls romantic words that he never said to her. She also told Roby that he raised his hand to hit her in front of her brother. She added that he twisted the story to the point that she was made to apologise to him. She added, “Because of all this crap, I foolishly almost overdosed on sleeping pills because of you.” Mayowa also said that she does not have good memories of any of their wedding anniversaries because for “3 consecutive anniversaries we were fighting because you won’t leave girls alone, even on our wedding anniversary you were still flirting with with some girl, telling her to meet you where we were shooting together.” “The previous years it’s one girl in Abuja or several others you converse with daily even while I’m laying beside you,” Mayowa added. Roby apologised and promised to do better. He told her that if only they were not apart due to her being in US and him in Nigeria, she would have seen the change in him. However, Mayowa told him that the damage he did is still in her head and she can’t get over it. Other chats show Mayowa telling her friend that she wishes she could give Roby children so that “he will lead his family better.” See the chats below.
