An officer who asked me out before taunted me after I was brought into their station- 16 year old girl arrested over her brother’s crime in Kwara shares her experience at the police station A 16-year-old girl in Arandun, Kwara State, is speaking out after being released from police detention, claiming she was held and beaten by officers demanding information on her brothers whereabouts. The teenager claims that an officer, Jimoh, who had formerly made romantic advances, stated she had “fallen into his trap” when she was brought into custody.  The incident has sparked outrage, with community members claiming she was used as a “substitute” after officers failed to arrest her older brother, who is accused of stealing a generator.  A community leader, speaking for the family, reported that a hospital turned down a request to examine the girl for abuse, stating that a letter from the police was required for the examination.  The Kwara State Police Command has strongly refuted these allegations. Spokesperson SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi asserted that the 16-year-old was arrested not for being a relative, but for actively hiding her brother, who is a suspect in a criminal case, and has since been released.  Watch a video of the minor recounting her experience below     View this post on Instagram           A post shared by Lindaikejiblog (@lindaikejiblogofficial)   The post Update: 16-year-old girl held in place of her brother in Kwara gives details of her experience in detention appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
