The Niger State Police Command has arrested a suspected cultist with a pistol and military kits in Bida. The spokesperson for the command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, May 5, 2926. According to the PPRO, the suspect was sighted on a motorcycle approaching a temporary police checkpoint but fled upon noticing the operatives, raising suspicion. During arrest and interrogation, the suspect confessed to being a member of the Vikings cult group, adding that he bought the pistol from one Gideon, who resides in Suleja, for N300,000. The suspect also claimed to be a campus photographer, claiming that a friend gave him the military materials. On 22nd April, 2026 at about 2am, Police operatives attached to ‘B’ Div Bida while on routine patrol arrested one Agada Isaac a.k.a Tee-light 30yrs of a lodge around Federal Polytechnic Bida, the statement read. “It was reported that the suspect was observed on a motorcycle approaching a temporary Police checkpoint in Bida, but on sighting the Police operatives, he stepped down from the motorcycle and took to his heels which raised a strong suspicion. “The suspect was chased by the Police team, arrested and during the spot search, he was found with a Baretta pistol. “In a further search of his residence, a military camouflage cap, knicker and a jacket were recovered. “During interrogation, he confessed to having been a member of a cult group known as “Vikings” and he added that he bought the pistol from one Gideon a.k.a Starboy residing in Suleja at the cost of three hundred thousand naira. He further claimed to be a photographer on campus and a friend gave him the camouflage. “The suspect is under further investigation and effort to apprehend Gideon and other accomplices is in progress.
