English and Italian football giants Manchester City, Chelsea, Inter Milan and Juventus are set to take part in a pre-season tournament in Hong Kong this August, the clubs announced on Tuesday. Manchester City, led by manager Pep Guardiola and star striker Erling Haaland, will face Inter Milan on Saturday, August 1, in the opening match of the Hong Kong Football Festival. The fixture will be held at the newly built Kai Tak Stadium, a 50,000-seat venue featuring a retractable roof and air-conditioning designed to handle Hong Kongs intense summer heat. Chelsea will take on Juventus on Wednesday, August 5, to conclude the mini-tournament. Inter Milan, coached by former Romanian international Cristian Chivu, currently lead Serie A as they pursue a 21st league title, while Juventus, Italys most successful club historicallyare fighting for a Champions League qualification spot under Luciano Spalletti. Chelsea arrive in Asia after a turbulent season, with changes in management and inconsistent league form, though they remain one of Europes most followed clubs. All four teams are expected to hold open training sessions, giving fans in Hong Kong the opportunity to see stars such as Cole Palmer, Lautaro Martnez, and Duan Vlahovi up close. The football action in Hong Kong does not end there, as Bayern Munich and Aston Villa are also scheduled to play a friendly in the city on August 7. Last year, similar pre-season fixtures in Hong Kong attracted sold-out crowds, with tens of thousands of fans attending matches and training sessions featuring top European clubs.
