Man allegedly commits su!cide in Ondo community

A man, identified simply as Friday, allegedly hung himself in Oda Town in Akure South Local Government area of Ondo State. The deceased, popularly known as Koko, was said to be from Cross River State. He reportedly took his life in a dilapidated building located near the residence of his mother and siblings in the Emiloro community of the town. His body was later discovered inside the building on Wednesday morning, May 13, 2026, brought down and laid on the floor. The tragic incident prompted an outpouring of grief as sympathisers and residents gathered at the scene to console his family. Speaking to Hope Newspaper on condition of anonymity, one of the deceaseds friends expressed shock over the incident, noting that Koko had previously advised some of his peers against frequenting nightclubs. I dont know what could have led him to take his life, the friend said. Another associate, who was visibly emotional, said he had been on his way to meet the deceased for their daily work when he received news of the tragedy.
