Eedris Abdulkareem’s new song “KURUKERE” is a soul searching and introspective song It questions what it terms the latest “kurukere” movement by Nigeria’s anti-graft agency (EFCC) that led to the blockage of the bank accounts of MCSN (Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria), and the CMO (Collective Management Organization), licensed by NCC (Nigerian Copyright Commission), to collect and distribute royalties to musicians in Nigeria, without notifications or invitations. Nigerian singers, through Eedris Abdulkareem, a musical Rights Activist and MCSN stalwart, are seeking answers regarding the Musicians’ Copy Levy recently released by the FG.
