A lady has sparked reactions online after saying she supports prenups and believes many women go into marriage mainly for survival and financial security. Speaking during a discussion, she advised men to withhold money and see who truly loves them, while also praising hardworking women genuinely building wealth for themselves. According to her, many women in Nigeria have been conditioned to believe they need a man to make life easier, adding that some women who appear financially successful were initially funded by men. She said women who truly built their wealth from scratch are usually not afraid of prenups because they are entering marriage for love, not money. The lady also argued that while nobody enters marriage expecting divorce, prenups are important because some people intentionally target wealthy partners, only to later demand divorce settlements after having children. She further stated that some wealthy families already have existing prenup structures guiding marriages into their families, insisting there is nothing wrong with protecting wealth before marriage.
